(Web Desk) – Hajiani Hanifa Bai’s 1930s home, restored by the Dawood Foundation, is a reflection of the rich history of Pakistan’s metropolitan city – Karachi.

Located in Jamshed Quarters, the TDF Ghar – as is now called – opened its doors to offer a public space that not only relives old Karachi but also provides people the opportunity to interact in its vast courtyard decorated with café-styled tables and chairs that helps retain the unique features of the home, and the city, that once was.

From original furniture, handcrafted tiles and airy sehen to the mesmerising view of the Mazar-e-Quaid from the rooftop, the TDF Ghar tells a tale of Karachi that is much different from the reality it now lives in. While the place offers a glimpse into the past of the Karachi, it does so while offering some chai and munchies in its courtyard.
